The Maratha

Dinner in Ludhiana, breakfast in Delhi, Lunch in Kolkata and Dinner in Mumbai. Most days I get up nd then try to figure out where exactly am I (not kidding). Marriot, Delhi was a nice experience, Maratha was awful, though it looks breathtaking.

I was in Mumbai to attend a conference on Competitive Intelligence where I suddenly discovered the power of my business card. Anyone who saw it would read

Pranay Harish Rao,
Market Research,
Projects and Competitive Intelligence.

Competitive Intelligence for a tobacco company says one guy and looks suspiciously at me, trying to find out whether there was an ex-army intelligence person hidden somewhere in that lovable exterior (as per my mother and 2 other female sources) of mine.

Anyway I lern a lot from John Calof and hope to implement it soon.

Till Next time,

Luv,

Jackpot

Hey someone heard about that lottery theory of mine cause I struck gold today. The Jet flight to Delhi had in-flight entertainment, nice seats and those adjustable head rests.

BTW jet seems to have changed all their inflight people to the new yellow uniform. The yellow suit seems very Hogwarts inspired and very functional. KF may have hotter uniforms but the jet people look much more comfortable.

My flight to Delhi was delayed but thankfully in time for the Chandigarh flight. 2 hours from there I reached Ludhiana. Ludhiana now has two multiplexes now, says Sandy. Everyone knew it was coming. Ludhiana is the Hosiery capital of India. It's time it had its own airport.

The last time I was here was during the Bingo launch, which was a big event in itself. This time it's for research. Speaking of Bingo, it's got whackier ads now, if that were possible.

I'm now busy watching fantastic four which has Jessica Alba, the lady with the scientifically proven perfect wiggle. Now who ever thought Jessica Alba would get the role of Ms. invisible. No wonder she's hardly invisible in any of the fantastic movies.

BTW can the double slit experiment be applicable to the hotness of a person. i.e. a chick/guy gets hotter just by the number of people observing them. Hence celebrities get hotter with the public attention on them.

I tell you Daniella Hantuchova and Maria Kirlenko get hotter on a daily basis just because of the attention we give them. Why did I name these two pretty ladies. Cause I was up close with them at the Sunfeast open this week. From the pre match fashion show to the semi finals (missed the finals cos of the Ludhiana trip), it was good fun. Just wished there were more people in the stands. I rooted for Kirlenko and she won. India winning in hockey, football, reaching the T20 final (to be played on Monday) and Kirlenko winning, a good week for sports :).

One sad moment though with Chelsea sacking Mourinho at a time when he can't even join the many teams which would've fought for him pre-season. Suddenly I am not rooting for Chelsea, maybe Liverpool??

Jet Airways - The gr8 Indian Lottery

Every second day I seem to be at an airport, waiting for flights which are almost always delayed. Since we may have to travel any day, we generally keep a set of vouchers with us which is generally Jet airways, which is what we call the gr8 Indian lottery.

I must be flying at an average of a flight a week and yet I am still pleasantly and unpleasantly suprised by the varied number of experiences that this airline seems to provide. I've flown from Jammu to Delhi, which I thought would be a low traffic route in this amazing plane with in-flight entertainment and comfortable seats and I've flown Mumbai - Kolkata, which I thought would be a more important route in this flight with ultra small, super uncomfortable seats and absolutely no leg room. My 2 flights each on Deccan, Spicejet, Jet Lite, Indigo have been better than that one. Actually Jet Lite was amazingly good value for money and of course Kingfisher is always comfortable, though the food never seems that gr8. Wish they had more flights and a better voucher system and I would have shifted there for sure.

Now I have some work in Ludhiana day after for which I would be again flying Jet to Chandigarh. Being a Jet Blue plus privilege number thanks to all the field visits I make, I can tele check in, vouchers anyway give me the convenience of change of flights in an emergency, a few flights later I will even get priority in baggage, but every Jet flight still seems like sitting in front of a slot machine, pulling the lever and waiting and watching with bated breath, just exactly what experience is the flight going to provide.

Awaiting standardisation of service
