Lateral thinking. That's about all I've done in my life. My teachers found it annoying, my friends find it sometimes helpful, mostly irritating. I remember the C prog professor who asked me what would it take to do a program the simple way and not add anything to it. My dip HOD seemed most startled to see my circle drawing practical on the press of a button turning into a design. To his credit he didn't fail me n to my friends' credit they still talk to me, but no day goes when I am not thinking of some different way to do something. Believe me it's not just about re-inventing the wheel, it's about making it go faster.
Somewhere along the path, while I focused on lateral thinking. this time at an IIM, where it was grafix n photoshop and then at ITC involving nested h and Vlookups, I forgot to look down at that small little paunch which had turned into a barrel of saturated fat. that is when I've shifted to a new pursuit in life. It's called Lateral shrinking.
Lateral shrinking involves little lateral thinking but a lot of focus. The Gym at the ITC centre is now full of us overweight/unhealthy managers desperately trying to gain that little bit extra stamina/endurance. It's all about wanting to feel better n I'm trying my best.
From a really bad 35% body fat I've brought myself down to 28% body fat losing a few kilos in fat and gaining some in muscle mass.
n for once I can say this without a fat laden burger in hand 'I'm lovin it'.

My adorable nephew
My nephew all of 7 days old today. He is quite cute, but seriously not half as cute as his uncle. Hee Hee.
I got to spend just a few hours with him and it was good fun. Can't wait to get back.
Luv,
Pranay
