Kadavu resort, calm, serene and peaceful. That was until a group of 2 mallus, 2 digs, one mumbaite(whos part mallu, part dig), one Bihari (or is it jarkhandi) and 1 Iyengar descended upon it and partied throughout the day. The place amazingly beautiful, the food awesome, the alcohol well dats the iyengars domain;).The party was to celebrate Nimish's n my bdays, my siss engagement, nimishs PPO, his getting hitched to a girl, his bros iimb selection. Actually Nimish had more reasons to throw the party, but the cheapskate dat he is:)), we combined for a day at Kadavu.
The place is most beautiful. Wat with it being situated by the river. We explored most of the place. shot movies, took pictures and stil felt that we couldnt capture all of it. An encore seems on the cards.
Prom was in absolute form, singing old romantic Rafi numbers. Swapna and me, were busy devouring unexpectedly good italian cusine. She did find time though to request a song from the floor singer(did I mention dat). The romantic songs were cheered by the luvstruck group of Prom, Lijo, Swapna and Nimish. The place is most beautiful. Wat with it being situated by the river. Of the bachelors, Adi kept rambling something and Rajan was thinking of ways to revive the dying Iyengars while I was too busy hogging on good food. The most painful part of the song session was me and
Swapna explaining the urdu lyrics to Lizo.
The place had heavenly hamocks next to the river for all of us to relax which we did. Food was in 2 sessions with a 3 pm starters session till 5 then a break of a couple of hrs of exploring ending with dinner at 7. The early dinner was for me to reach the Mpower session in time. However the jeep reached late so we finally left the place at 8:30.
There was one serious point late in the evening when we heard of bomb blasts in London, however Swapnas Sis and Lijos Bro were both far from the blasts so we toasted their good fortunes.
The drive back was also pretty interesting with flash floods which had blocked the old route forcing us to take a detour. Thankfully the junies kept abhijit busy enuff so dat I could attend some part of Mpower.
The news in London was somewat of a dampener on the evenin. My status message the day before was that no one could bend it like London (for the olympic victory). No one knows when this wierd proxy war will ever end. Id started this blog on a day after the bomb blasts in Madrid. I guess this poem's still relevant more than a year later
Death stopped the bud,
from ever becoming a flower.
It never knew the consequence,
of this mad lust for power.
A battle is fiercely fought,
for the many generations to come,
Now if only they could pause,
and spare the lives of some.
Maybe enough would survive,
to create a generation,
Just enough to create,
a single proud nation.
Luv,
Pranay
